The ad in Morgenbladet
Paa en Reise fra Drammen over Gjellebek og Ravnsborg til Jensrud er en Guldring bortkommen. Den var fæstet med en Knappenaal til en firkantet hvid Naalepude. Ovenpaa Ringen var en liden Diamant og under samme en Haarlok. Paa den indre Side stod: James Lister ob. 1826 æt 76. En Belönning av 5 (fem) Speciedaler udloves til den, der bringer Ringen til Hr Schöller i Hotel du Nord i Christiania inden Mandag Aften den 12te August 1839
Translation: On a journey from Drammen over Gjellebek and Ravnsborg to Jensrud a gold ring has been lost. It was fastened with a pin to a square white pin cushion. On top of the ring was a small diamond and under it a lock of hair. On the inside stod: James Lister ob. 1826 æt 76. A reward of 5 (five) Speciedaler is promised to whomever brings the ring to Mr Schöller at Hotel du Nord in Christiania by Monday evening August 12 1839
